Oathslide

The merge puzzle fights back

Keep the light alive on a board that fights back.

Oathslide is a merge puzzle with something on the other side of it. Slide to forge Sparks into stronger light. Strike the Gloom before their timers crack the board. Hold the Hearth while every slide you make advances the threat.

How it plays

One swipe moves everything.

Nine ranks of light, three species of Gloom, and ground that breaks. Everything below is read from the shipping build.

Illustration of the board's language, not a screenshot.
  • BearersYour light, ranked Spark I through Dawn IX. Equal Bearers merge into the next rank.
  • GloomShadow, Wraith, and Titan. They do not drift. They sit and they count down.
  • ThreatThe number on a Gloom. Send a Bearer of equal or higher rank, or lose it.
  • FractureWhat a Gloom leaves at zero. Nothing moves through it. Merge alongside to clear it.
  • HearthYour remaining light — three points on Normal. Every failed strike takes one.
  • EclipseThreat 5, and it comes back. Rank V Lantern or higher can wound it.

Every slide commits

One swipe moves everything. Merge equal Bearers into the next rank, or send one into a Gloom — and if its rank falls short, you lose the Bearer and a Hearth with it.

The board fights back

Gloom tiles don't drift. They sit, they count down, and at zero they Fracture the cell beside them. Fractured ground does not come back on its own.

Nine relics, two slots

Every phase offers a choice of two. Stop the timers, seal the Fractures, forge a rank, or purge the board — then decide which one you're willing to lose.

The Eclipse always returns

Break it and it comes back with more health, a higher bar, and a sharper board. Rebuilding between Eclipses is the real game.

Three ways in

Easy gives you room to learn. Normal is the balanced tactical game. Hard starts under pressure and does not let up.

Free, and not freemium

No ads. No energy. No in-app purchases. No cross-app tracking. The whole game works offline.

The nine relics

Take one. Lose the other.

Two slots, and choosing while full discards the oldest. Spending a relic is a free action — it does not cost a slide.

Taught on contact

Guide Spark names the threat, then stops talking.

There is no rules wall. The opener is two lines and a Play button; every new threat is named the first time it appears, in one sentence. Instructional text thins as you prove you already know — unless you ask for it to stay.

Make the world sound ancient.Make the interface sound surgical.
